Cobram Estate’s award-winning extra virgin olive oils are now available through a partnership between Australia’s largest producer, Boundary Bend Limited, and Veronica Foods, an importer and distributor of premium olive oils based in Oakland, Calif.
Last month, Cobram Estate’s ultra-premium oils won two Best of Show awards out of three international categories, three Best of Class awards, and five gold medals at the 2011 Los Angeles International Extra Virgin Olive Oil Competition, the first time a producer from the southern hemisphere has achieved this result.
The program is designed to increase taste, quality and durability and has been adapted specifically for the USA through collaboration between Cobram Estate’s parent company, Boundary Bend Limited, and Veronica Foods.
Veronica Foods exclusively supplies more than 200 stand-alone olive oil and vinegar stores throughout the USA and operates its own store, Amphora: Berkeley Olive Oil Works in Berkeley, Calif. The stores will feature three of the award winning extra virgin olive oils from the L.A. Competition together with a wide array of ultra premium oils produced by Boundary Bend Limited.
These oils are exclusively available in bulk through Veronica Foods. The release includes: Cobram Estate Ultra Premium Picual (Gold Medal and Best of Class in the International, medium category), Cobram Estate Ultra Premium Hojiblanca (Gold Medal and Best of Class in the International, delicate category) and Cobram Estate Koroneiki (Gold Medal, medium category).
The Australian olive harvest is counter-seasonal to that of the Northern Hemisphere, making Cobram Estate olive oils some of the freshest currently available anywhere in the world.
