On the heels of the sale of Byrd Cookie Co., Savannah, Ga., to Stephanie Lindley, the company is undergoing a company-wide restructuring.
The company remains in the family; Lindley is the great-granddaughter of the company’s founder. According to a company statement, she will continue in the family tradition producing high quality specialty cookies.
Recently, Byrd Cookie hired Seth Goodman, pictured left, as its vice president of sales. His responsibilities are to oversee, motivate and manage Byrd’s in-house sales team, and coordinate representation of Byrd’s cookies through experienced sales groups. His background is in pharmaceutical sales. Earlier this year, India King joined Byrd Cookie as vice president, a new position for the company. Geoff Repella remains company president.
The company’s changes are visibly apparent at its factory store location, which has been under renovation. The store now includes a large vintage bar, new lines of gourmet specialty food, vintage Byrd posters and artifacts which are all part of an overall new look and direction with a strong focus on its cookies. The vintage bar with be serving flavored milks, assorted beverages, snacks and large Byrd cookies. Once the wine licensed is approved, wine will be available by the glass or bottle. Byrd’s goal with their flagship store is "to create a fun, interactive and delicious experience."
In other news, the company recenlty rolled out a cookies-by-the-ounce program and a refrigerated cookie dough line. For Christmas, it has new designs for its ornaments, tumblers and tins that are filled with Byrd Cookies' apple crunch, key lime, triple chocolate and ginger snap flavors.
