PrintSwedish Textile Company Celebrates 320 Years

Founded in 1692, Ekelund is a family-run company dedicated to excellence in design, quality and
service with a commitment to environmentally-conscious manufacturing. The company has won numerous awards for its weaving technology and design. Ekelund products have been available in Europe for centuries and have been available in the U.S. market for 11 years.

Featuring more than 1,000 items, the textile line includes tablecloths, napkins, runners, placemats, towels, throws, pillows, rugs and dish cloths. In 2010 Ekelund introduced its Green Clean line of cotton/bamboo Towels and Dish Cloths. All of the raw materials used by Ekelund consist of yarn spun from 100 percent natural fibers.

The textiles produced by Ekelund are eco-labeled with the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation’s
Good Environmental Choice label. In 2011, the company introduced the pixel-weaving concept, allowing woven textiles to feature pictures.
