Steven Raichlen Launches Planet Barbecue in Atlanta

PrintSteven Raichlen Launches Planet Barbecue in Atlanta

The bold grilling flavors span the globe, from Jamaica to Malayasia, Morocco to Columbia. The spice rubs and marinade pastes are an extension of Raichlen’s bestselling cookbook, “Planet Barbecue,” published in 2010 by Workman Publishing.

“Our goal is to give consumers an authentic grilling and flavor experience based on the world’s best live fire cooking,” Raichlen says. “Planet Barbecue spice rubs and marinade pastes are going to blow people away. I’m thrilled to be launching the line in Atlanta, to an audience known for its passion for flavor.”

The line consists of four explosively flavorful spice pastes from Columbia, Morocco, Malaysia and Jamaica. The spice rubs feature bold blends from North Africa, Spain, Morocco, Argentina and Germany. Raichlen spent years on the world’s barbecue trail, documenting live fire culinary traditions from cultures around the planet.

“We are so excited about the Planet Barbecue line of grilling flavors — Steven’s hit a home run with these flavor profiles,” says Chuck Adams, CEO of The Companion Group. “Steven is a master of his craft. We learn so much from him and as always, are thrilled to be working with him on developing new products for the barbecue world.”

The suggested retail price for each Planet Barbecue spice paste is $9.99. Spice rubs are $6.99 each.

Headquartered in the Bay Area since 1984, The Companion Group develops and markets an array of brands in the outdoor living category, including Charcoal Companion, Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue, Patio Companion and Planet Barbecue. For more information, visit www.companion-group.com.
