Stater Bros. will open its newest supermarket in Lake Elsinore, Calif., on Feb. 22.
Located at the Lake Elsinore Town Center, the new Lake Elsinore Supermarket will replace a smaller nearby Stater Bros, which will close on Feb. 21. At 43,279 square feet, the new environmentally friendly store is 76 percent larger than the store it will be replacing, with wider aisles and nearly double the amount of parking spaces. Stater Bros. also operates two other supermarkets in Lake Elsinore.
The new store has numerous full-service departments including meat, premium sandwiches, hot bakery, floral and a deli with fried chicken, tacos, a prepare-your-own salsa bar and seating area. Other store features include a produce department with more than 800 items including certified organic items.
The new store also includes several environmentally friendly practices such as refrigerated display cases with LED lighting and glass doors using 60 percent less energy. The new lighting system uses dimming ballasts, energy-efficient lamps, and occupancy sensors. The store features a recycling area for customers’ paper and plastic grocery bags.
San Bernardino, Calif.-based Stater Bros. operates 167 supermarkets in Southern California.
