Zupan’s Markets is closing its store in Belmont area of Portland, Ore., after 20 years. Local reports indicate the store will close on Jan. 22. The specialty grocer will continue to operate its stores in Burnside, Macadam and Lake Grove, all in the Portland area.
The Belmont store, in the heart of the Belmont District in southeast Portland, was housed in the former Belmont Dairy and featured indoor/outdoor seating, a growler and Brew Dr. Kombucha station, Ellenos Greek Yogurt bar, a salad bar and floral delivery.
The family-owned Zupan’s Markets first opened in 1975 as a traditional supermarket before transitioning to the smaller format of today that specializes in high-quality, often hard-to-find gourmet food items.
