Doug Diemoz leaves chain after less than two years

Doug Diemoz, who was recruited away from Restoration Hardware in 2015, has left his position as CEO of Crate & Barrel, based in Northbrook, Ill. While no details are available, Vicky Lang, a spokeswoman for the chain, confirmed the departure.

Neela Montgomery, an executive board member at Crate & Barrel’s parent company, the Otto Group, will assume most of the CEO duties, working closely with Steve “Woody” Woodword, president and chief merchant, and Mike Relick, COO, according to a report in the Chicago Tribune.

Diemoz succeeded Sascha Bopp, and has 20 years of retail experience.
