Co-Founder of Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Dies

PrintCo-Founder of Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Dies

Dean Mae (Ferreira) Giacomini, who along with her husband Bob started the dairy farm that was the foundation for what is now known as Point Reyes Cheese Co., died July 18. She was 75 years old.

After getting married in 1958, the couple made their home in Point Reyes Station, Calif. One of her greatest joys was that all four of their daughters— Karen Howard, Diana Hagan, Lynn Stray and Jill Basch — were actively involved in Point Reyes Cheese Co., with them.

A funeral mass was held on July 23 at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Petaluma.
