Patsy’s, the family owned and operated Italian restaurant at West 56th St. in New York City, has partnered with Colavita USA, based in Edison, N.J., for the sourcing and national distribution of its Patsy’s line of pasta, extra virgin olive oil, and balsamic and varietal vinegars.
“Partnership with Colavita is more like a marriage,” says Sal Scognamillo, co-owner and executive chef of the restaurant founded by his late grandfather, Pasquale “Patsy” Scognamillo. “We’re entrusting the Patsy’s brand to another family.”
Colavita, like Patsy’s, is family owned, with third- and fourth-generation family members overseeing operations in the United States and corporate headquarters in the Molise region of Italy.
After decades of customers asking for Patsy’s sauces to be sold in a jar, the Scognamillo family decided to commemorate the restaurant’s 50th anniversary by bottling its original Marinara sauce. Since then, five additional sauces have been added, including Tomato Basil, Fra Diavolo, Pizzaiola, Puttanesca and Vodka. Patsy’s sauces are produced in small batches with fresh, all-natural ingredients, following the same recipes used in the restaurant. Patsy’s pasta sauces are available in 15.5- and 24-ounce glass jars. The suggested retail price for the 15.5-ounce jar is $4.99; the 24-ounce jar is $7.99.

Recently, Patsy’s extended its signature line to include authentic artisan bronze die-cut pasta imported from Italy. The Patsy’s line include six varieties of pasta: casarecce, fusilloni, linguine, mezzi rigatoni, penne rigate and whole wheat spaghetti. All varieties are sold in 1.1-pound bags. Suggested retail price range from $3.99 to $6.99.
