Fagor America, known for pressure cookers and induction cooking, along with celebrity chef Michelle Bernstein launched a new line of cast iron lite cookware called Michelle B by Fagor last week. The recent Top Chef judge unveiled the cookware and an
electric multi-cooker on the Home Shopping Network (HSN) on July 29. She will return to HSN on Sept. 2.
The Miami chef and James Beard Award winner is the author of "Cuisine a Latina" and known for her two restaurants: Michy's and Sra.
Michelle B's Cast Iron Lite collection is made with multi-coated enamel for strength, durability and heat resistance. These Cast Iron Lite pieces give the same performance and benefits as cast iron, but with half the weight, according to the company. Michelle's Cast Iron Lite collection has a nonstick interior, silicone handles and glass lids. Each piece is coated with a cream-colored interior coating, making the cookware easy to clean and stain resistant.
Michelle B's Cast Iron Cookware Collection includes a 12-inch Chef's Pan with Glass Lid, a 4.5-quart chicken fryer with glass lid and a 3-quart soup pot with glass lid. All of the pieces are available in red, blue and lemon-lime.
The 3-in-1 stainless steel Electric Multi-Cooker is a 6-quart pressure cooker, slow cooker and rice cooker all in one.
The slow cooker option offers both high and low temperature settings, with flexible programming up to 9.5 hours. It also features a brown and warm function for one-pot cooking. It has a self-locking lid and a 6-quart removable cooking pot that is coated in nonstick for easy clean up, and available in red, black and lemon-lime. The suggested retail price for Michelle's Cast Iron Lite cookware begin at $39.90; the Electric Multi-Cooker is showcased at $99.90 on HSN. The items are being launched nationally in August.
