Hundreds of new kosher products will be introduced at the 23rd Annual Kosherfest show, the largest trade show featuring kosher food, beverages and Jewish gifts, Nov. 8-9 at the Meadowlands Expo Center in Secaucus, N.J.
Kosher food continues to cross over into gourmet and specialty categories. “Natural, healthy and gluten-free products continue to grow among new kosher product categories, as an estimated 18 million people in the U.S. are sensitive to gluten,” says Menachem Lubinsky, founder and co-producer of Kosherfest. “Kosher now appears on more new products than any other claim."
This year, new and unusual flavors have popped up in all kinds of products, from ready-to-make mushroom quinoa from Pereg-Gourmet to cherry-infused challah bread. The kosher market is thriving segment of the specialty food industry; more than 12 million kosher consumers seek new ingredients, new cookbooks, and easy-to-use and ready-to-make products that will bring them into 2012 and beyond.
In addition to exhibits, the two-day show features several educational sessions, including “Mainstreaming Kosher: Taking Ethnic/ Specialty Foods to the Masses and Growing Beyond Your Specialty Niche” on Nov. 8 at 1 p.m.
