PrintGourmet Retailer Parent Launches New Media Brand for Retail Execs

Business media leader Stagnito Media has launched a major new media brand in partnership with the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) developed exclusively for top retail executives.

Called Retail Leader, the brand will hit the market with its first issue in mid‐August, accompanied by an exclusive website and e‐newsletter. The GMA will work with Stagnito to develop content and distribution, and fully support the brand as an official publication. The formal launch of Retail Leader will take place at the August GMA Executive Conference.

“We will combine our outstanding editorial and media assets with the thought leadership of GMA to provide, for the first time, content that is 100 percent written for the top decision‐makers,” said Stagnito president and CEO Harry Stagnito. “This collaboration represents a compelling new resource for the retail food and beverage industry and its suppliers.”

Retail Leader will provide in‐depth strategic analysis of industry trends, business expansion, individual profiles, corporate case studies, human capital, financial management, technical and logistical applications, global influences, and original research and analysis. Exclusive interviews, roundtables, and top executive insights represent core content. In addition, the formidable insights and market knowledge represented by GMA will be central to every issue.

The new brand will be headed by Jeff Friedman (pictured), who recently joined Stagnito Media as VP and group publisher of the Progressive Grocer brand. Retail Leader magazine will have a controlled circulation of 10,000 executive subscribers and will be published bi‐monthly. Retail Leader online will have additional exclusive content in an initial open‐access platform, including GMA updates and content. The executive newsletter will provide a concise summary of news and information specific to top management concerns.

“This is an era of unprecedented change and opportunity. The globe is growing smaller, competition is moving faster, shoppers are more discerning, and technology is rewriting the rules of the game. Today’s marketplace is without question the most challenging we’ve ever faced. And we take that challenge seriously—very seriously,” Stagnito said. “This is an exciting and long‐planned launch that complements our brands with executive‐level content and analysis designed specifically for the top executive team.”

Retail Leader joins a growing, industry‐leading brand portfolio that includes Progressive Grocer, Convenience Store News, Gourmet Retailer, PG Store Brands, CSN Single Store Owner, and Hispanic Retail 360.
