Gourmet Lobster Cuisine from Calendar Islands Maine Lobster Now Available at Select East Coast Retailers

PrintGourmet Lobster Cuisine from Calendar Islands Maine Lobster Now Available at Select East Coast Retailers

A unique partnership between 38 Maine lobstermen and Stonewall Kitchen’s founders are bringing delectable wild-caught Maine lobster to tables everywhere.
Calendar Islands Maine Lobster, Portland, Maine, has expanded distribution of its eight new specialty food offerings to select Hannaford supermarkets, the Stonewall Kitchen online store and specialty food shops up and down the East Coast. Each entrée makes an easy and delectable transition from freezer to plate, and all of the dishes feature wild-caught Maine lobster harvested from the traps of 38 conservation-minded lobstermen.
Stonewall Kitchen founders Jonathan King and Jim Stott collaborated with the lobstermen on recipes designed to offer lobster-lovers a Maine gourmet dining experience no matter where they live. The choice of succulent lobster dishes ranges from the traditional (Lobster Stew, Bisque, Corn Chowder and Raw Tails) to the innovative (Mac & Cheese, Cakes, Pot Pie) and Maine Lobster Pizza — one of 10 finalists for the Seafood Excellence Award at the 2011 International Boston Seafood Show.
Every Calendar Islands entrée begins with handpicked meat from lobsters sustainably harvested from Casco Bay in the Gulf of Maine. Each dish is crafted in New England using the finest farm-fresh vegetables, herbs, butter and cream to complement the naturally sweet taste of always-superb Maine lobster. Calendar Islands Maine Lobster gourmet dishes are frozen to preserve the freshness and flavor of the lobster, and other premium ingredients until they are ready to be served
Ellen Curreri Perry, owner of Black Cherry Provisions, one of southern Maine's premier specialty food sources, is delighted to be able to offer her customers these delicious, time-saving entrees.
“A lot of people want to experience the unique taste of real Maine lobster, but they're looking for something beyond the traditional boiled-lobster dinner, so when they see Calendar Islands Maine Lobster entrees in our freezer case, they get really excited,” she says.
In addition to their new locations at Hannaford's, Stonewall Kitchen online and specialty food shops along the East Coast, Calendar Islands Maine Lobster products also are beginning to appear in supermarket and specialty food stores, and can be ordered directly for national and international delivery from Calendar Islands Maine Lobster’s website and online store at http://mainelobstergourmet.com and http://mainelobstergourmet.com/store/.
Calendar Islands Maine Lobster got its start in 2009 when Calendar Islands lobster fishermen came together with the idea of turning their multi-generational knowledge of Maine lobstering and love of local lobster recipes into an innovative business venture.
