PrintGLOBAL SIAL d’Or awards honors Honey Drop

Island Abbey Food’s Honibe Honey Drop received the highest award-- the Global SIAL d’Or-- yesterday at SIAL, the global food show that continues in Paris through Oct. 22.

The honey drop was selected as the global winner out of the 39 products that received the SIAL d’Or awards for their successful product launches from 30 countries.

Island Abbey Foods Ltd., a Canadian specialty food company, was recognized in the Sweet Grocery Products category for its Honibe Co. Honey Drops. These solid honey tablets, which are available in the U.S. market, are made of pure white clover honey, free of additives or preservatives. They can be used as a coffee and tea sweetener, lozenges for sore throats, or enjoyed as a candy.

From the USA, SmartFood Popcorn Clusters Brand from PepsiCo/Frito-Lay was recognized in the Sweet Grocery Product category. This flavored popcorn, introduced in May 2009, in 120-calorie, single-serve packages is aimed specifically at women. The one-ounce, portion-controlled packets of sweet popcorn include fiber and calcium.
