While an estimated 2 billion people tuned in for the televised nuptials of William and Kate last Friday, Sarah Kaufmann, “The Cheese Lady,” honored the royal wedding her own regal way, with a mammoth cheese carving at the Central Market in Houston.
The nationally recognized cheese carver whittled away on a Wisconsin Cheddar on April 29 and 30. While shoppers reminisced about the Windsor wedding, they were able to nibble on cheeses from the market’s royal line-up of cheesemongers. Central Market’s cheese shop is famous for offering a wide variety of specialty cheeses from Wisconsin and abroad.
William and Kate will, of course, were featured in the cheese carving. To watch the progress of the royal sculpture, visit Kaufmann’s Facebook page by searching for The Cheese Lady or click here (https://www.facebook.com/?sk=messages&tid=1720637091269#!/pages/The-Cheese-Lady/53018390259).
