Buyer’s Best Friend Tops 100,000 SKUS

PrintBuyer’s Best Friend Tops 100,000 SKUS

San Francisco-based Buyer’s Best Friend (BBF) has hit the 100,000 mark.

The site, which is a free online resource for buyers and sellers of wholesale specialty products, now lists more than 100,000 products from 1,500 manufacturers.

According to BFF, more than 2,000 buyers regularly use BBF, and more than 20,000 cases of product have been sold since the site’s launch in fall 2010. BBF streamlines the buying and product discovery process, allowing buyers to order from numerous vendors, reorder products, research new products, and order samples. Buyers include Bi-Rite Market, Cheese Plus, Zingerman’s, Zabar’s, Joie de Vivre Hotels, and the Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.

Founders Adam Sah and Joyce Guan started Buyer’s Best Friend as a response to the challenges Guan was facing in her food broker business, California Girl Foods. “As a broker, I was constantly constrained by the amount of time I needed to spend to visit clients, place orders, and by how many samples I could carry,” says Guan. “We realized that we could revolutionize the way buyers, sellers, brokers and distributors work together.”

Before teaming up with Guan, Sah was a senior software engineer at Google, and led the team that developed Google Gadgets.
