By Joseph Tarnowski

Brookshire Grocery Co. chairman of the board Brad Brookshire said the March 10 grand opening of its new concept food store, FRESH by Brookshire’s one of the landmark days in the company’s history, adding that “FRESH is the best of the best.”

The 55,000-square foot store in Tyler, Texas, features fresh produce, meat, and seafood to an array of cheeses, desserts, pastries, and breads, chef-prepared meals, organic produce, and homeopathic remedies, along with everyday items like eggs, milk, and laundry detergent. The store focuses on in-season produce from local farmers, as well as a wide variety of meats, cheeses, and seafood.

In addition, up to 100 fresh food offerings a day – from gourmet “comfort food” to a full burrito and taco bar, a sandwich bar, a soup and salad bar and an outdoor grill– are prepared daily on site, encouraging customers to visit the store frequently to dine in or to pick up delicious chef-prepared items to take home.

Tyler, Texas-based Brookshire’s operates more than 150 supermarkets under the Brookshire’s Food Stores and Super 1 Foods banners in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. More than 80 of them offer fuel centers.
