Seattle-based Baristas Coffee Co. Inc. has announced that it has completed a development franchise agreement with Silver King Coffee Inc. to open Baristas-branded locations in Tampa, Fla., including Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, and Pasco counties.
The agreement is to open five locations over the next three years and has an option for five additional locations within the territory over the next eight years. The companies currently are seeking to finalize the first location and expect to open within 120 days.
"The Tampa area is a very important strategic region for our franchising initiative,” states Robert Palmer, director of franchise development. “Silver King Coffee provides the local management, business acumen and connections to jump start this region. This region is virtually untapped for our concept, and we believe that revenues per location could rival those in Seattle.”
Baristas Coffee Co. was formed to create a national brand of drive-thru espresso stands. It is accomplishing this by acquiring established businesses that fit its model, opening new locations and franchising.
According to a company statement, “Baristas employs and promotes attractive female baristas trained to interact with the customer to maximize sales. … All Baristas wear a variety of appealing costumed-themed attire.”
