Wilton Launches Scrapbook-inspired Cake Decorating Tools

Print Wilton Launches Scrapbook-inspired Cake Decorating Tools

Just in time for National Bake and Decorate Month, Wilton Enterprises, introduced its Punch. Cut. Decorate! cake decorating system.

“We’ve combined the fun and popularity of scrapbooking and paper crafting with food crafting and cake decorating,” says Nancy Siler, vice president of consumer affairs at the Woodridge, Ill.-based company. Siler notes that food crafting and scrapbooking are No.3 and No. 5 respectively in the top ten craft segments by sales, according to the 2010 Craft & Hobby Association U.S. Attitude & Usage Study.

Wilton’s Punch. Cut. Decorate! includes Sugar Sheets! Edible Decorating Paper along with a complete line of punches and cutting tools. The edible, flexible Sugar Sheets! have a light sweet flavor and are available in solid colors, patterns, and the alphabet is available. The edible paper is reminiscent of scrapbooking options for paper crafting projects, and the new Punch. Cut. Decorate! tools have the same look and feel as those used for similar projects. The difference is the end product – cakes, cookies, cupcakes or other treats that are decorated with borders, flower bouquets, accent bows and more.

Siler predicts that the novelty of this new way to decorate treats will pique the interest of the full range of at-home bakers, from those who are experienced cake decorators to those without any previous cake decorating experience.
