The "Oscars" of the specialty food industry, the sofi Awards, have taken notice of The Gracious Gourmet. The company’s Spiced Sour Cherry Spread has received a sofi Finalist Award in the category of Outstanding Condiment
"It is such an honor to be recognized among the wonderful specialty food producers who are members of the NASFT," says Nancy Wekselbaum, founder of The Gracious Gourmet, Bridgewater, Conn. "We have seen the popularity of the Spiced Sour Cherry Spread really take off during the past year. It is nice to get confirmation from industry peers that we have a winner in this spread." In 2009 TGG received a Silver sofi for the Dilled Carrot Tomato Tapenade.
The three-day judging extravaganza took place April 13-15, with thousands of products vying for recognition as the most outstanding foods of the year among members of the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade (NASFT). Now Spiced Sour Cherry Spread and the other finalists will be judged at the NASFT Summer Fancy Food Show in Washington, D.C., to compete for the Gold sofi Awards. The final winners will be announced at the Summer Fancy Food Show on July 11 during a a red-carpet ceremony hosted by celebrity chef Cat Cora.
