Harry & David Supports Teams Up with Soldier Angels

Print Harry & David Supports Teams Up with Soldier Angels

On Nov. 10, gift retailer Harry and David kicked off the third annual Support Our Troops with Moose Munch Bars program, which allows families, friends and supporters of the U.S. military to purchase the treat and send it service men and women in war zones.

Harry & David teamed up with Soldiers’ Angels, a non-profit agency that ships care packages to U.S. soldiers in combat. Since last fall, more than 70,000 Moose Munch Bars were shipped to soldiers in military bases abroad. The program ends this year on Dec. 31.

Customers may purchase Moose Munch Bars at Harry & David stores nationwide and gift them to soldiers with a personalized message. Each bar and note is packaged with a plastic spoon. (At some military bases, the 100-degree heat melts the Moose Munch. )And then they’re sent to Soldiers’ Angels to be dispersed to military bases.

Based in Medford, Ore., Harry & David has 70 stores throughout the United States.
