Gourmet Housewares Show Readies for NYIGF Debut

Print Gourmet Housewares Show Readies for NYIGF Debut

Leading gourmet products and housewares resources from around the world are planning to participate in the summer 2011 debut of the Gourmet Housewares Show at the New York International Gift Fair (NYIGF). The Gourmet Housewares Show runs Sunday, Aug. 14, through Thursday, Aug. 18, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

As part of the repositioning of the Gourmet Housewares Show to run alongside NYIGF, some 150 high-end gourmet products suppliers will be showcased on the Javits Center’s Level 3 exhibit floor, between NYIGF’s Accent on Design and Tabletop divisions.

“Not only will the Gourmet Housewares Show introduce a number of well-established gourmet products suppliers to the New York Market, it also will coalesce relevant resources from other NYIGF divisions,” says Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. “This will form a key concentration of kitchenware resources for retailers, and will create unparalleled cross-selling opportunities for gourmet suppliers seeking access to 35,000 home, lifestyle and gift buyers who attend NYIGF.”

As of April 8, more than 100 companies have indicated their interest in participating in the summer 2011 launch. This includes a number of leading gourmet product suppliers already exhibiting at NYIGF, such as bambu, Bella Cucina, DKB/ Zyliss, Harold Imports, JK Adams, Joseph Joseph, Lush Life, Picnic at Ascot, Tea Forte, William Bounds and Wilshire Industries as well as early commitments from key newcomers to the New York market:

-Atelier du Vin (wine ware and accessories from France)
-Cult Design (multifunctional, design-focused kitchen accessories from Sweden)
-Dreamfarm (original designs in utensils and accessories from Australia)
-Gourmac (utensils, bakeware, dinnerware, gadgets and recipes)
-Kahla (porcelain tableware from Germany)
-Mepra (high design flatware, kitchen accessories, and tabletop from Italy)
-Nespresso (coffee and espresso machines)
-Sowden (soft brew coffee pot from Italy)
-Victorinox Swiss Army (cutlery)
-Waechtersbach (European manufactured ceramic tableware and accessories)
-Zak (High-designed seasonal housewares and tabletop)

The Gourmet Housewares Show will be located immediately adjacent to NYIGF’s Accent on Design, offering synergistic access to complementary design-focused suppliers such as Alessi, ASA Selection, Blomus, Built, Chilewich, OXO, Royal VKB (Wabnitz Editions), Stelton and Umbra. On its other side — and connected temporarily this summer by a Javits Center construction zone — NYIGF’s Tabletop division will feature another 200 leading suppliers of specialty tabletop lines, including Arte Italica, Juliska, Kim Seybert, Lunares, Match, Michael Aram and Vagabond House.
