Sheri Castle, author of “The New Southern Garden Cookbook,” will teach a class at the The Cook’s Warehouse store in midtown Atlanta on June 16. During the 2-hour class, Castle will show students how to use local produce to create a delicious and healthy meal.
According to a statement from The Cook’s Warehouse, “Castle believes in inspiring Americans to partake of the garden by raising their own kitchen plots, visiting area farmers' markets and pick-your-own farms and signing up for CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) boxes from local growers.”
She is not only an advocate of using “homegrown” ingredients, but, as a collaborative writer, recipe developer and tester for The Southern Foodways Alliance Community Cookbook, Castle is well-versed in the history and culture of Southern cuisine.
The Cook’s Warehouse operates three gourmet kitchenware stores and cooking schools in Atlanta.
