Diversity Suppliers exhibited their products at the 53rd Summer Fancy Food Show ― which is ending its three-day run today ― and in the Focus on Diversity Showcase located on Level 2, North Concourse. Products ranged from teas, spices and barbecue sauces to granola, chocolates, and organic baby food, and are produced by African American, Asian, Caribbean, Eastern European, Hispanic and Middle Eastern manufacturers.
In an effort to aid the entry of minority-owned businesses into the specialty food industry, the NASFT's Diversity Council continues to expand its comprehensive program, which consists of access to the Fancy Food Shows, education, networking and mentoring.
"Since 2002, we've helped minority-owned businesses successfully enter the specialty food marketplace at the Fancy Food Shows," says Antheré Motayne, NASFT membership director. "Our mission is to advance a culture of diversity for an evolving world of food. With that in mind, we will continue to give other minority-owned companies the tools they need to realize their dreams of succeeding in this industry."
