Gourmet Retailer Creates One-of-a-Kind Retail Event

April 18, 2008

The Gourmet Retailer Magazine announces its first-ever educational retreat called Retail 2020. This event is scheduled for August 20-22 in Connecticut at the Mohegan Sun -- an upscale resort casino property with great chefs and many activities. It is also preceded by the New York International Gift Fair and the organizers there have created a program for retailers who want to attend at a discount with added features as well.

Retail2020: A Successful Vision begins with a reception on August 20 and continues with two days of in-depth educational/informational presentations, networking, and retail roundtables for brainstorming and problem-solving. Some of the topics covered include:
Vendor Challenges How to Get the Deal -- Advertising Allowances, Discounts Technologies -- What's New and Important in the Market Marketing & Public Relations Display Shipping Hot New Retail Concepts Making the Most of Your Web Site, Profiting From Your Newsletter Sustainable Retailing Specialty Food & Kitchenware Trends
There will also be an exhibit area filled with companies who not only have products for you to sell, but those companies that help you run your business more effectively. The space is limited to only 35 companies so the design is not as a "show" but as an informational area you can visit during breaks and networking.

The cost is very affordable -- registration is $249 ($149 if you sign up before May 1). This includes all events, meals and breaks. The hotel is just over $200 a night; transportation from Providence, R.I., or Hartford, Conn., airport is provided by limo at $80 per round trip. And airfare options are very good.
