Component Design Northwest, Inc. (CDN), The Time & Temperature
Company™, has published 25 Tips for Food Safety, a CDN 25th
Anniversary feature designed to both educate and sell. The feature
appears in a colorful brochure, now available to CDN retailers to
help merchandise their food thermometers, and it also appears
online at
www.cdn-timeandtemp.com.
"With food safety issues increasingly in the news, consumers are
paying more attention. The Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention estimate that 76 million people become ill from harmful
bacteria in food each year. There are a number of easy steps that
consumers can take to protect themselves and their families, and
we're working with our retailers to spread the word," said Jan
Murtagh, president of CDN.
CDN's 25 Tips for Food Safety cover general cooking, cleaning and
food storage issues as well as thermometer usage, and they also
include references to a number of helpful food safety information
Web sites. CDN has also produced a business-card-style piece that
shows a sampling of the Food Safety Tips, referring people to their
Web site for the entire list.
25 Tips for Food Safety appears in the Articles & Information
section of the CDN Web site, which also contains an "Essentials and
Extras" checklist showing the major types of thermometers and
timers, an informative article on Thermometer Technology, and a
helpful feature on "How to Recalibrate Your Thermometer."
"If we were just in the thermometer and timer business, we wouldn't
sell as much. We're also in the education business -- educating
consumers about food safety, and about thermometers and timers --
and that's the foundation for much of our growth," said
Murtagh.
CDN, a family-owned company for 25 years, has a growing global
business with the broadest assortment of thermometers and timers on
the market. For more information on the company and its latest new
product introductions, visit the CDN booth #3620 at The Gourmet
Housewares Show® in May, or contact CDN at 800-338-5594.
