The Spring Tabletop Market at 7 W New York opened Wednesday with a
ground-breaking new addition -- the Market Suites @ 7 W temporary
exhibits. The entire industry was buzzing with excitement about the
range of brands and lines available at market for the very first
time. The Market Suites gallery-like setting really lent itself to
the premier products that ranged from tableware to linens,
housewares, gourmet products and decorative accessories. Exhibitors
were able to create environments that reflected the individuality
of their brands. Many were testing the market with plans to explore
permanent showrooms in the near future or expand their presence in
the Market Suites.
The permanent showrooms were also doing a brisk business with
visits from a wide variety of retailers including: Macy's,
Bloomingdale's, Gump's, Neiman Marcus Direct, Costco and Pottery
Barn (to name just a few).
"Our tabletop market has far exceeded all expectations so far,"
commented Chris Collins, vice president and general manager of 7 W.
"Our Market Suites initiative is off to a phenomenal start and has
achieved the market-changing impact that we expected. Our
attendance for the first few days has far surpassed previous shows
and we have attracted a new core of buyer to this market. All of us
at 7 W, our showrooms and our new Market Suites are thrilled with
market and are already looking forward to raising the bar for our
next market in October."
At the close of the busy first day, 7 W played host to a capacity
crowd made up of exhibitors, buyers and media guests at their
festive launch Gala. Guests were all discussing the day and the
feedback was extremely positive, which is a great beginning to a
new chapter for 7 W and the entire New York Tabletop Market.
