California Gift Show & L.A. Mart Join Forces

June 28, 2009

This summer, the newly integrated California Gift Show becomes the largest gift and home furnishings resource on the West Coast, with nearly 300 permanent year-round showrooms at the L.A. Mart and a combined temporary exhibitor roster of more than 1,000 fresh, unique resources at both the Los Angeles Convention Center and L.A. Mart.

"Los Angeles will once again become the key market for buyers on the West Coast," said Peggy Coleman, vice president marketing, L.A. Mart and California Gift Show. "Our buyers are very excited about the upcoming July market, they look forward to a streamlined show that is easy, productive and fun for them to shop; our goal is to make the market experience seamless."

The increased scale of the show is especially important for buyers of holiday/seasonal merchandise at summer market. Los Angeles will now be the place to go for all holiday buying in July, the time of year when traditional holiday buying begins. "The breadth of holiday resources is now second to none," said Frank Joens, vice president sales, California Gift Show. "We are attracting new and returning exhibitors at a pace unseen for many years; this acquisition is a win-win for everyone."

One Show at Two Locations

New holiday merchandise, products, lines and categories will emerge to satisfy broader buyer demand. At the California Gift Show's Los Angeles Convention Center location, amazing buying opportunities exist in all key categories from resort, fashion accessories, boutique, extracts, gift, stationery, kids and many more. Outstanding exhibitors include Bearington Collection, Ohio Wholesale, Ed Hardy Candles, Found Image Press, Laughing Elephant, Hat Stack, Dorfman Pacific, Zad, Jimmy Crystal, VIP International, Enjoy Lighting, Maximal Art, Kito Design, Lady from Venice, Alex Carol, Folkmanis, Hot Focus, Spokandy, Chukar Cherry, Chocolate and Steel, Amery Carriere Designs and Bo's Art Studio, to name but a few. And, in the ever-exciting World Style section housed in Kentia Hall, exhibitors include: Swahili Imports, Tesoros Trading, Karma Living, Poco A Poco, SPIRAL Foundation, Grenouille, Caught My Fancy and Glorie.

Additionally, the California Gift Show's L.A. Mart Temporaries welcomes some of the most important names in the gift industry, such as Vera Bradley, Mark Roberts, Christopher Radko, Alef Judaica, Keena & Co., Creative Gifts, Green Hill, Enesco and Transpac. In addition to fashionable new Christmas merchandise, hard-to-find Judaica resources land on the floor of the L.A. Mart Temporaries this July.

Downtown Los Angeles itself has undergone a major transformation and revitalization. The opening of entertainment destination L.A Live and its popular venues will make gift and home furnishing buyers' time in downtown Los Angeles even more enjoyable than ever before.

"We are thrilled to offer our buyers even more compelling reasons to shop with us. The product selection will be unparalleled and the ease of market experience for the buyers -- one registration process, one show directory and one shuttle -- benefits everyone, but mostly our buyers," said Mark Furlet, vice president and general manager, L.A. Mart and California Gift Show.
