The flagship store of The Cook’s Warehouse will move to a new
location in Ansley Mall this fall, it was announced on
Monday.
“I opened my first cookware store on Amsterdam Avenue in March,
1995. We’ve grown from two employees to 48 associates in three
locations.
“My original store and cooking school has outgrown its space so I
took the opportunity to relocate it to in-town Atlanta’s most
successful mall,” said Mary S. Moore, owner and founder.
The Cook’s Warehouse, in addition to retailing quality gourmet
cookware, operates the largest avocational cooking school in the
Southeast. It also sells professional-grade appliances such as
built-in refrigerators, ranges, dishwashers, ice makers and more
from brands such as Miele, Sub-Zero and Wolf.
Moore said the 6,500-square-foot space at Piedmont Avenue and
Monroe Drive, formerly occupied by Piccadilly Cafeteria, is already
being converted to “my dream store” including:
• A bright new cookware area in the front
• A cooking school facility, able to accommodate more than double
the participants than the previous space
• Four kitchen/large appliance areas: the cooking school, beverage
and refrigeration, a lifestyle kitchen and an outdoor kitchen
“In this new store, we’ll be able to display more cookware and
accessories than ever before including our featured brands of
All-Clad, Le Creuset, Swiss Diamond, Chantel Copper Fusion,
Capresso, Cuisinart, Krups, WMF, Wüsthof, Shun and others.
“And in our showcase kitchen, we’ll be able to counsel customers on
the correct appliance for their indoor or outdoor cooking and allow
them to have real-life ‘test runs’ before purchase,” Moore said.
The professional brands available include Miele, Sub-Zero, Wolf,
Bosch, Viking, Five-Star, Vent-A-Hood, AGA and others.
As much as possible, the space is being converted using LEED
(Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) standards by
Matthew Rao of Rao Design Studio and Jeff Wren of Earthstation
Architects.
Moore’s strategic partners on this project include Cornerstone Bank
in Decatur, Miele USA, RAO Design Studio, Earthstation
Architecture, and Dakota Construction.
The Cook’s Warehouse ( www.cookswarehouse.com ) is greater
Atlanta’s premier gourmet cookware store and cooking school with

more than 600 classes yearly, often taught by local chefs, and has
a large web-based delivery-by-post site.
Owned and operated by founder Mary S. Moore, The Cook’s Warehouse
also retails high-end appliances; conducts private cooking classes
for unique celebrations and corporate events, and is a pro bono
partner with virtually every major cooking event and gourmet
association in Atlanta. She is currently Vice Chair of Atlanta’s

of Les Dames d’Escoffier and a past president of the Atlanta
Chapter, on the Woodward Academy Alumni board and she belongs to
numerous other gourmet industry associations.
